After doing research and casting at MTV for a number of projects, including two pilots and several True Life episodes, Roopa joined the Gigantic! team in 2008 and is now a show producer. In 2010, she produced True Life Goes On: Where Are Your Favorites Now? and True Life: I'm Addicted to Food, and she's also worked closely on many other episodes in the series, including I'm Living Off the Grid, I'm Changing My Sex, I Have Neurofibromatosis, and I'm a Gambler. While at Gigantic!, Roopa also segment produced MTV News' Sexting in America and briefly relived her childhood figure skating dreams while in the field for Ice Queens.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Roopa moved to New York to attend Columbia University, and graduated in 2006 with a B.A. in Film Studies. She enjoys working on shows that are thought-provoking and educational, and aspires to create pro-social media that captures the attention of teenagers and young adults.
